The Special Meter in WWE 2K22 is the blue meter below the Vitality that fills when performing moves throughout the match. The Special Meter is used for Signature moves, Payback moves, special abilities, and to kick out of pinfalls.
The Special Meter can hold up to three Specials to use and can be the difference-maker in any match. Signature moves are attacks that do a lot of damage and usually set up a wrestler's Finishing move. Each wrestler has different Signature moves, so it is helpful to check what position the opponent needs to be in to use it. For example, if John Cena's signature move is the Five-Knuckle Shuffle, he would need to be next to an opponent facing up on the ground to perform the move.

Players can also use the Special Meter for a special kick-out in pinfalls. Based on the deep gameplay dive by 2K Sports, the kick-out will break out a pinfall, even after a devastating Finisher. However, the kick-out uses two full Special bars and may not be able to be used multiple times during the match.
Along with signature moves and pinfall breaks, Players can also use the Special Meter for Payback moves. Yes, Payback moves are coming back to WWE 2K, so players will be able to shift the momentum after being hurt by chaining together a few moves to get back into the action.
The Special Meter may also be used for special abilities, but it could vary from wrestler to wrestler. The deep gameplay dive indicated that the Special Meter can be used for other defensive actions but was not shown in-game. Since WWE 2K22 has a revamped defensive system, the matches can get very interesting with back-and-forth action.
