Kick out of the pin!

To escape pins in WWE 2K22, mash the A button (Xbox), or X button (Playstation).

You can also escape pins by using two bars of the Special meter, but that method is not always available. You may also want to save bars of the Special meter to pull off Comeback moves or Signature moves, so you may want to use it as a last option.

The lower your vitality meter, the harder it will be to escape a pin. Performing heavy damage attacks, Signature moves, and Finishing moves make escaping a pin harder directly after as well.

Some moves can also directly move into a pin attempt, so be on the lookout for those. Many finishers also include a pin attempt, so if you get caught in those, it may be a good idea to use the Special meter pin escape if it is available.

With the return of button mashing to escape pins instead of a timing system, it puts more pressure on the player to quickly struggle to escape. Players will have to tap the button quickly before the ref reaches the three count. In WWE 2K22, the referee's count is pretty slow, making the pin escape system more important. Remember to watch your Vitality and Special meters to make sure you can escape a pin at any time.
