How to perform Breakers in WWE 2K22

What are Breakers?

In WWE 2K22, Breakers are reversals for grappling or combo attacks. To perform a Breaker, you must time your opponent's move and press the same button. Here are all of the moves that Breakers can reverse by pressing the same button.

Recommended Videos
  • Grapple - Press B (Xbox), or Circle (Playstation) when the opponent attempts to grab.
  • Light attack combo - Press X (Xbox), or Square (Playstation) during an opponent's light combo.
  • Heavy attack combo - Press A (Xbox), or X (PlayStation) during an opponent's heavy attack in a combo.

Breakers will allow you to gain some momentum when your opponent is trying to unleash an attack that might do a lot of damage. Breakers need to be properly timed, but with some practice and learning what moves the opponent will attack with, they can be the difference-maker in any match.

Breakers will reverse grapples and combos, but all other moves are reversed with the reversal button, Y (Xbox), or Triangle (PlayStation). Moves like quick attacks, jumping attacks, or running attacks are all reversed with the basic reversal button.

Be on the watch for your Stun meter above your character. If it fills up and you are stunned, you will not be able to perform Breakers, and it may leave you open to a Signature Move or Finishing Move.

WWE 2K22 features some different mechanics than previous years, especially on the defensive side. Players can now block, dodge, or pull off the reversals to stay in the fight. The expanded defense system makes matches more interesting and can shift the momentum back and forth in the blink of an eye. Players will have to watch their opponent closely and time attacks to become the best in the WWE ring.
