Sand dunes hide great treasures, unique monsters, secret areas, and much more in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The only problem? You'll have trouble climbing, and all these lovely things are out of your hands! The solution is easy: find out how to climb up the dunes. Well, as with many things in this game, you first have to complete the hero quest to learn how to walk up sand dunes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
How to master walking up dunes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3
To learn dune walking, you'll have to unlock Scree Walking skill. To do that, you must reach chapter 3 and at least level 25 to complete the hero quest "Going Beyond Power." This quest is connected to Teach, one of the best heroes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. To get this quest, go north of Gura Flava camp in the Aetia region. To complete this mission, you'll need to:
- Defeat Kavesi soldiers
- Talk to Kyrie
- Head to colony Gamma
- Talk to Teach
- Teach will show you how to walk up sand dunes
- Fight with Teach
- Fight with Moebius G
- Teach is now unlocked as a hero!

It's worth noting that after Step 5, you don't have to complete the quest as you'll get the skill you need. But why would you do that, now that you're so close to finishing? Fight your way till the end and enjoy valuable rewards. Now that you've unlocked the Scree Walking Traversal skill, you can run into a dune. Now you can walk up sand slopes without sliding and discover all those secret locations waiting for you!
