Can you get two of the same armor pieces from Amiibo in Zelda TotK (Tears of the Kingdom)?

Become an armor merchant.

The numerous armor options are a great returning feature in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These provide various bonuses, such as climbing wet surfaces, elemental resistance, and more. This makes switching up armor a good way to approach challenges. However, another use is selling armor gained from amiibo. But this left me wondering if I could get duplicate armor pieces in Tears of the Kingdom. Here's the answer.

Can you have two of the same armor sets from amiibo in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Players are reporting that getting the same armor pieces from amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom is possible. I haven't personally gotten this yet, but it took quite some time for me to get the Tunic of Awakening set from the Link's Awakening amiibo. This was possible in Breath of the Wild, so there is no reason to suspect you cannot get duplicate armor from amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom, and you are free to try it out!

I do know that you can purchase the same armor set and pieces from stores. I bought two Hylian Hoods, which are helpful if you want one with a hood up and a hood down. That said, there isn't much point in having multiple armor pieces besides selling them. I imagine you must sell your armor before you can get another.

Because of this, getting multiple armors from amiibo makes grinding Rupees incredibly easy. Armor is worth a good bit, so the more you can sell, the richer you will be. This is counterproductive when you consider purchasing armor, as you are then spending your hard-earned Rupees instead of making them.
