Is there multiplayer or co-op in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Can you save Hyrule together?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the long-awaited sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and fans have been itching to return to Hyrule since its reveal. Link is the iconic protagonist of the series, but he often receives aid from a companion, Zelda, and other characters. This may leave you wondering if The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has co-op.

Does The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom have co-op multiplayer?

There is no confirmation, but it is unlikely that you can play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom co-op or multiplayer. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild did not have co-op, and the Legend of Zelda series has largely been single-player. Tears of the Kingdom looks to be following these trends.

It isn't entirely impossible that Tears of the Kingdom will lack co-op. Nintendo published Triforce Heroes and The Four Swords Adventures as co-op Zelda games, but these were both spin-offs. So we stick with our assumption that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will not have multiplayer and will remain single-player.
