What are rare enemy variants in Tales of Arise?

Rare enemy variants are unique versions of normal monsters in Tales of Arise that glow with a threatening aura. You can find these enemies occasionally if you look hard enough out in the wild and when you do prepare for a fight.

Rare variants hit harder and are much faster than normal zugles. The rewards for finding them are great because they give more XP and Combat Points than regular enemies. Because of that, it's highly recommended to go rare zeugle hunting in Tales of Arise.

If you want to go rare zeugle or enemy variant hunting, we recommend finding a decent high-level area with many zeugles/enemies and proceed to clear it. Kill every enemy in all areas of the map and region you are currently in.

You may stumble on a rare variant while doing this. Chances are you probably won't, as they are called rare for a reason. After clearing the map, you can fast travel to reset an entire area. This way, you can farm your area for rare variants to gain tons of XP, Gald, and SP while doing it.
