Raven Software pushes out several new modes and events to Call of Duty: Warzone. As the name suggests, Realism Battle Royale is a limited-time game mode in Warzone which aims to make combat and gameplay more lifelike.
Realism BR tries to bridge the gap between a casual first-person shooter and a tactical shooter. Although changes are made to the game mechanics, they sure do affect the gameplay and pace of the match. The prominent changes made to the Warzone Realism mode are further discussed below.
The first and most important change is the removal of the heads-up display i.e., no HUD. Players are used to the "too much" information provided in a normal Battle Royale game. The mini map, equipment and weapon indicator are completely removed.
You'll have to bring up the complete map to receive navigational help (press M on PC). You can see the weapons, cash, armor plates and ammunition you are currently holding by bringing up the inventory (press TAB on PC). An extremely shrunk down armor plate indicator along with the team display is present in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
The map doesn't indicate any contracts or vehicles. You will only encounter them when you see them on your screen. Moreover, calling a UAV killstreak makes the minimap visible for a brief duration and reveals every enemy, vehicle, and contracts nearby. Furthermore, headshots deal more damage than usual.
You do not have a health indicator and pretty much have to predict your health while getting shot. Most of the other features in Warzone such as killstreaks, field upgrades, buy stations, safe zone, ping system and contracts work the same. However, the changes shown above are pretty significant and may severely impact your gameplay.
You may or may not like this game mode. Nonetheless, if you have good map knowledge and decent weapon skills, you will totally dominate the Realism Battle Royale mode in Warzone.
