What does the Sun Stone do in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

Some Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will require an item in order to evolve. One of these items, the Sun Stone, will be required to evolve a specific Pokémon into their final evolution. This evolution item can only be used to evolve a Pokémon one time as, after the Pokémon's evolution, the item will disappear from the player's inventory. Players will need to have the Pokémon hold the item to have the option to evolve that Pokémon.

Which Pokémon evolve using the Sun Stone?

The Sun Stone is an evolution item required to evolve Petilil into Hisuian Lilligant. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon won't evolve automatically like they used to. Once their evolution criteria are met (like reaching a certain level or holding a certain item) players will have to tell the Pokémon to evolve in the in-game menu. To use the Sun Stone, players should have Petilil hold the item and then visit the in-game menu in order to evolve it into Hisuian Lilligant.

Where to find the Sun Stone?

The Sun Stone can be obtained in a few different ways. The Trading Post in Jubilife Village will sometimes sell the item for 1,000 MP (Merit Points). The item can also be purchased from Ginter's Shop in Jubilife Village for 5,000 Pokédollars. Upon completing Request #85 "A Home Under the Eaves" players will also be given a Sun Stone.
