Best moves for Hisuian Braviary in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

With such a cool typing, it's hard to resist not making it battle-ready.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, moves determine your Pokémon’s potential in battle. Pokémon will naturally learn more powerful ones as it levels up, but you can also visit Zisu in Jubilife Village to have it learn others for a price. This is true for every Pokémon in the game, including Hisuian Braviary—one of the regional variants.

Best moves for Hisuian Braviary

Braviary is a Pokémon with good stats all around. However, its Sp. Attack is notably higher. This means that it’s better off keeping Special attacks over Physical ones. Below are the best moves it can learn:

  • Air Slash (learned at level 20)
  • Esper Wing (learned at level 25)
  • Dazzling Gleam (learned from the Move Tutor)
  • Mystical Fire (learned from the Move Tutor)

Moves that are used by Pokémon of the same type have their base damage increased by 50%. We call this same-type attack bonus (STAB). Air Slash and Esper Wing are going to be your Hisuian Braviary’s STAB moves.

You can also have your Pokémon learn Psychic from Zisu to replace Esper Wing. Psychic is a bit more powerful, but Esper Wing raises Braviary’s speed, so it’s better to keep it. Hisuian Braviary also learns Hurricane at level 52. But while it’s a lot more powerful than Air Slash, its accuracy is low—don’t risk it.

Meanwhile, Dazzling Gleam and Mystical Fire are there to let your Hisuian Braviary hit Ice and Dark Pokémon, which it’s weak to. Plus, both give you huge coverage, as they’re super effective against Dragon, Steel, and many other types.
