How to get monsters to help on your farm in Rune Factory 5

It will save you a lot of time in the morning!

While we all can enjoy the repetitiveness of watering our plants and tilling our soil, it’s no secret that it’s sometimes a time waster. This is especially true when you’re growing a lot of crops in multiple fields. Fortunately, you can get monsters to help you with your farm.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Before anything else, you first have to have met the Farm Dragon and have a Barn built on it. The former is part of the story and the Barn will come as an early side quest pinned to the Request Board. Every Barn can hold four monsters without an expansion.
  2. Once you have your barn, grow some Fodder. Each barn consumes one stack of Fodder per day. Fodder seeds can be bought from the General Store.
  3. Place the Fodder into the Fodder Bin. The Fodder Bin is located beside the Well on the Farm Dragon. Make sure you have a lot to keep your monsters happy!
  4. Then comes the fun part: invite monsters to come with you. Go out on the field and give an item to the ones you’d like to stay in your barn.
    • The stronger the monster is, the better the item should be. However, for the ones dwelling in Phoros Woodlands, even a stray mushroom you just picked will work. It might take a couple of bribes.
  5. Finally, raise your monster’s friendship level. They won’t help if you’re not close. Remember to brush them every day and to keep the Fodder Bin full. You can also give them items.

Once you’ve done all the steps, you should be able to select Assign field chores when you speak to one of them. Make them clear the field, water your crops, and more!
