Escape Simulator is a puzzle-solving adventure that can be tackled alone or with up to twenty players in its multiplayer mode. With both pre-built levels and a plethora of fan-made areas, there are more than enough challenges to solve as you shovel through its catalog of escape room-style quests. But in order to begin with your best foot forward, you'll want to know the basics, like how to play, for example.

- Up – W / Up Arrow
- Left – A / Left Arrow
- Down – S / Down Arrow
- Right – D / Right Arrow
- Crouch – Left Ctrl / C
- Examine / Open Inventory – E / Spacebar
- Pin – Tab
- Drop – Q
- Throw – T
- Instant pickup modifier – Left Shift
- Multiplayer ping modifier – Left Alt
The goal behind every level is simple: navigate the room, solve the appropriate puzzles, and escape to complete the objective. As for multiplayer levels, its creators can alter the rules to fit their own design. So, in short, no two levels are the same, and each one boasts a unique section of obstacles that you, the escapee, must overcome.
