Genshin Impact leaks reveal information on all Fatui Harbingers – lore, playability, & speculative release timeline

Childe doesn't seem to get along with any of the girls...

The Eleven Fatui Harbingers are some of Genshin Impact's most notorious protagonists, characterized by the Delusions bestowed upon them by Snezhnaya's Cryo Archon, the Tsaritsa. Inspired by Italy's Commedia dell'arte, each Harbinger goes by a code name and an alias, throwing away their pasts to swear eternal loyalty to the Tsaritsa.

Players have met some of the Fatui Harbingers in the game—the most familiar being Tartaglia (Childe), who frequently appears as a recurring character with morally gray intentions. However, most members of this mysterious faction remained unknown until a recent stream of leaks by Twitter user @Ubatcha1 revealed dialogue by Childe—presumably from the Version 2.8 or 3.0 beta—that describes every one of his co-Harbingers.

All of Childe's leaked dialogues about The Fatui Harbingers

  • The Jester (Pierro)—the First Fatui Harbinger who acts as a de facto leader for the group but rarely makes an appearance.
  • Damselette (Columbina)—the Third Fatui Harbinger who doesn't seem powerful at first glance, but Tartaglia is wary of her and doesn't dare cross her path. Interestingly, the words "女孩" were used to describe her in the Chinese leak, which could possibly indicate that she owns a child body model similar to Klee and Qiqi.
  • The Fair Lady (La Signora)—the Eighth Fatui Harbinger who players crossed paths with in Monstadt and Inazuma, and is an existing Weekly Boss. The Crimson Witch of Flames Artifact set details her backstory.
  • Marionette (Sandrone)—her numerical position among the Fatui Harbingers is unknown, but she's described as a person who is constantly engaged in research and seems to hold a grudge against Childe, although the latter has no idea why.
  • The Rooster (Pulcinella)—the Fifth Fatui Harbinger who's known to have recruited Tartaglia among their ranks. Pulcinella retains a close bond with Childe's family, frequently sending his siblings, Tonia and Teucer, pastries and presents. Some members of the community speculate that this is all an elaborate act that may be used as blackmail against Childe.
  • The Knave (Arlecchino)—her numerical position among the Fatui Harbingers is unknown, but Childe is wary of her due to her penchant for betrayal. He also states that she is someone who doesn't have a "sane bone in her body." Interestingly, Arlecchino was once called a "he" in-game by a lower-ranked Fatui, but the leaks refer to them as "she."
  • The Doctor (Il Dottore)—while his numerical position among the Fatui Harbingers is unknown, Il Dottore is one of the more familiar characters who has not yet appeared in-game due to his involvement in the Genshin Impact manga. There are rumors that he had taken segments off his body and created prostheses out of them, which he could order to work on tasks.
  • The Captain (Capitano)—his numerical position is unknown but he seems to be of a high rank, as Childe speaks of him in high regard. He seems to be very adept in battle.
  • Regrator (Pantalone)—his numerical position is unknown, but Pantalone is described to be an incredibly ambitious person who keeps The Fatui's cash reserves stocked. Based on his story in the Pale Flame Artifact set (Moment of Cessation), it's assumed that Pantalone does not have a Vision but still carries a Delusion from the Tsaritsa.
  • The Balladeer (Scaramouche / Wanderer)—the Sixth Fatui Harbinger whose lore has been partly explored in the Husk of Opulent Dreams Artifact set and is widely known as a failed prototype of the Raiden Shogun. According to Childe, he had run away after claiming Ei's Gnosis in Inazuma.

Which Fatui Harbingers will become playable in Genshin Impact?

The Balladeer (Scaramouche) has been leaked to appear around Version 3.2, both as a Weekly Boss and playable character. Meanwhile, The Doctor (Il Dottore) is also rumored to become a playable character sometime during the Sumeru era.

Furthermore, Twitter user @SpendYourPrimos stated that Marionette (Sandrone), Damselette (Columbina), and Regrator (Pantalone) may make appearances leading up to Fontaine, the next region in line after Sumeru. Their playability is speculated, but with over a year before Fontaine may release, this information could change at any point in the timeline.
