How to get 60 FPS in Sonic Frontiers

Roll around in the speed of sound without stuttering.

High-speed games like Sonic Frontiers are always better off with a higher framerate. After all, you don’t want a stuttering display to ruin your experience with this amazing game. Here’s how you can get 60 FPS in Sonic Frontiers.

Before we answer this question, you should know that 60 FPS is only available on three platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you’re playing it on the Nintendo Switch or last-gen consoles like the PS4, 60 FPS is not supported.

How to turn on 60 FPS in Sonic Frontiers

To enable 60 FPS, go to Options Graphics. Move down to Graphics Quality and switch it to 60fps mode. The game will run at 1080p to make up for the boost in performance, but the framerate is much more valuable in any Sonic game. You don’t need 4K to appreciate the beauty of the islands.

High-end PC users also have the option to use Cheat Engine to uncap their framerate. Whether an in-game option to do this will be available in the future is unknown.

The Graphics option has a couple of other things you may want to toggle to enhance your Sonic Frontiers experience:

  • Speedometer display: On
  • Blur effect: Off

Although it won’t work for everyone, the Speedometer arguably helped us control Sonic’s movements with more accuracy. Turn off the blur effect if boosting starts giving you some motion sickness.

There are also speed sliders in the Options > Game setting menu that you can adjust depending on your personal preferences. If you’re impatient, like the blue blur, you can set them to the max and watch him run at Mach 1.
