How to beat 7-Star Samurott Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Pokémon Black and White, Gen 5 starter evolution, Samurott, is the latest Pokémon to be added as a 7-Star Tera Raid in the Paldea region. And like those before it, you need to go in with a counter that ensures victory, as it can be a problematic win if you don't. Here's how to beat the 7-Star Samurott Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, including the best counters.

Best Samurott counters for the 7-Star Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

There are two important factors to counters in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: level and type. Samurott's Tera Raid is a 7-Star difficulty, meaning you'll be facing off against it at level 100, so ensure that whatever Pokémon you bring in matches this.

Samurott is usually a Water-type Pokémon, but its Tera typing makes it Water/Bug-type. Because of this, you need to consider both when deciding which counter to go for; Fire, Flying, and Rock are good options. We'd also recommend that you IV and EV train your chosen Pokémon first before attempting this Raid.

Tauros 7-Star Samurott Tera Raid Build

Use the following if you are using Tauros to attempt to beat this 7-Star Samurott Tera Raid.

Use Tail Whip on turn one and two to lower Samurott's Defense stat. If you get knocked out, don't panic, as it's completely okay. On turn three, use Sunny Day to make Samurott's Water-type attacks less effective. After Samurott lands a critical hit on you, Tauros' Ability Anger Point will kick in, raising its Attack stats six times. Now that you are powered up, use Raging Bull on turns four, five, and six until you knock out Samurott.

If your Tauros isn't Hyper-Trained, you may have to use Raging Bull for a few extra rounds before defeating the Unova Pokémon. There are other great counters that can be used for the 7-Star Raid, including Legendary Koraidon and Annihilape. Both Pokémon can utilize Screech on turns one and two to lower Samurott's Defense. Using Flare Blitz and Rage Fist will make quick work of the Raid boss.
