While turn-based tactical RPG Wartales centers around exploration and combat, crafting is also a large part of the journey. Each profession gives one or two stat bumps, so if you’re looking for more information on Wartales profession bonuses, including for the Brewer, you’ll find them all explained below.
How profession bonuses work in Wartales
New crafting professions are slowly introduced to you as you explore Tiltren, with a total of 11 professions available in the game. Each human companion can have multiple professions in Wartales, but only one is active at any time.
Each profession has five levels, with the stat bonus rising with each level-up and usually including a nice jump when you reach Master. Pairing professions with the right classes is important, as certain classes will get little to no benefit from these bonuses. For example, your Archers and Rangers will benefit from Dexterity bonuses as they relate to the damage they do, while melee classes will be better suited to professions giving Strength bonuses.
If you prefer to play with a smaller party, you're likely going to have to double up on professions or ignore some completely. I found it useful to double-up on professions such as Miner and Blacksmith on one warrior, so you're constantly getting a useful bonus whichever you have equipped at the time.
All Wartales profession bonuses
Note that these profession bonuses are still being balanced in patch updates, so are liable to change. If you find any inconsistencies as you play, let us know in the comments below. Note that the Brewer profession (introduced in The Tavern Opens! DLC) has more positives than other professions but also a negative.
