How to play all Pikmin games in order

When it comes to crashed spaceships and adorable plant creatures, Pikmin takes the cake. I've been looking forward to Pikmin 4 since it was announced, which led to me wanting to take a stroll down memory lane and replay the Pikmin series. With multiple entries, it can be hard to determine what order you should play them in and whether the story is chronological with the release order for the Pikmin series.

All Pikmin games in order

The main entries in the Pikmin series are considered part of the official Pikmin timeline, with the spin-offs taking place within but having no influence on the series. This means they can be counted outside of the series without messing with the order. That said, here are all Pikmin games in order chronologically and in release order.

What order should I play the Pikmin games?

It should be no surprise that the proper order to play the Pikmin games in the order they were released. This means starting with Pikmin, then moving on to Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3, and Pikmin 4. All of these titles are available on the Nintendo Switch, which means you can play them all easily.

I recommend starting with the original Pikmin and working your way through the series. If you start with Pikmin 4 or Pikmin 3, you will be used to different mechanics and may find it harder to go back to an older title. However, it should be noted that the Pikmin games typically shake up the gameplay and features, making each title able to be played by itself.
