Sparkpowder is an essential resource in Ark, as you need it for quite a few things in the game. That said, In this guide, we will explain where and how you can get Sparkpowder in Ark: Survival Evolved.

To make Sparkpowder, you will need first to gather flint, which you can harvest from rocks and nodes with a stone or metal pick. Once you have accumulated a sizeable amount of flint, return and put in any of the following listed structures.

  • Mortar and Pestle - To craft a Mortar and Pestle, you will need to unlock the engram for it at level 6 and have 65 stone and 15 hides. 
  • Chemistry Bench - To craft a Chemistry Bench, you will need to unlock the engram for it at level 82 and have 250 metal ingots, 250 cementing paste, 100 Sparkpowder, 250 Crystal, 250 Polymer, and 250 Electronics. 

After that, all you need to do is click craft, and overtime inside either of the above-listed structures, it will make the Sparkpower 2 per 12 flints used. Then once some Sparkpowder is crafted, you can use it later for the following items listed below.

  • Gunpowder
  • Flare Gun
  • Stimulant
  • Radio
  • Fabricator
  • Smoke Grenade
  • Flash Grenade
  • Chemistry Bench
  • Fertilizer

The Sparkpowder, along with being used in the crafting recipes listed above, can keep food and perishables stay fresh ten times longer when put inside a Preserving bin. Along with that, it can also power the following items listed below.

  • Refining Forge
  • Cooking Pot
  • Campfire
  • Stone Fireplace
  • Standing Torch
