Solitary Suanni is a Genshin Impact Normal Boss found in Chenyu Valley. The illuminated beast drops a material called the Cloudseam Scale, which can be used to Ascend Xianyun and possibly other characters in the future.
Below, you'll find everything you need to know about how to enter Suanni's cave and some battle tips to make the boss fight go smoothly.
How to unlock Chenyu Vale & get to Solitary Suanni in Genshin Impact
Solitary Suanni is located in the Chenyu Vale, an area accessible to players who have completed the Archon Quest Prologue Act III - Song of the Dragon and Freedom. If you're entering the area for the first time, a Teleport Waypoint will appear in Chenyu Valley: Upper Vale, allowing you to explore the region without completing prior exploration zones.

However, to find Solitary Suanni, you need to light up the area on the lower part of Chenyu Vale by interacting with the southern Statue of The Seven. Doing so will show you Solitary Suanni's exact location—as pictured under the circled Statue of The Seven above.
After lighting up the southern part of Chenyu Vale, head to the Teleport Waypoint south of Solitary Suanni's marked location in the World Map. Then, use the special interaction button (T for PC; refer to the bottom of the screen for the exact control for your device) to trigger the Golden Carp's Leap and teleport to the "pearl" floating in the area. This exploration mechanic works similarly to Sumeru's Four-Leaf Sigils.
Using the Golden Carp's Leap will leave you suspended in the air. You can use the Normal Attack button to target the exact spot you want to land on. In this case, target the ground in front of the boss to begin the battle against him.

How to defeat Solitary Suanni & farm Cloudseam Scale in Genshin Impact
Solitary Suanni uses both Anemo and Hydro and has a higher resistance against them (70% versus 10% for other Elements) but is not immune to them. As such, I recommend bringing a DPS that could React with Hydro and/or Anemo, including Dendro, Pyro, Electro, Cryo, and Geo. The battle is generally straightforward, but there are two phases to pay attention to.
Spirittide Deluge
Suanni will sometimes enter the Spirittide Deluge state, where it charges itself with Anemo and Hydro. During this state, the goal is to Freeze Suanni using Cryo and then break the Frozen state using Shatter, Melt, Superconduct, Swirl, or Crystallize Reactions. Doing so will paralyze the boss for a few moments, giving you a battle advantage.
Keep in mind that this segment is optional—you can simply wait for the Spirittide Deluge phase to end if you didn't bring a Cryo unit in the battle.
Spiritwind Storm
Solitary Suanni will sometimes enter the Spiritwind Storm phase, where it will summon three Spiritwind Pearls around the clearing, which look like floating Anemo balls. The goal is to get rid of the Spiritwind Pearls using Cryo, Electro, Hydro, or Pyro attacks. If you manage to get rid of all three, Suanni will be paralyzed for a few moments, giving you a battle advantage.
Like the Spirittide Deluge, the Spiritwind Storm phase is also optional. You can choose not to participate and still defeat the boss. Upon defeating Solitary Suanni, spend 40 Original Resin to get up to three Cloudseam Scales per battle.
