Silent Hill The Short Message trailer amps up the nope factor with its disturbing monster

In a surprise twist, a new Silent Hill game is available now. Silent Hill: The Short Message is a free-to-play experience in the iconic horror series. But what exactly is it about, and what new fears will it invoke in me?

Silent Hill: The Short Message was revealed during the January 31, 2024 PlayStation State of Play on the PlayStation YouTube. Just the trailer alone has me saying nope, and I doubt I'll be able to make it through the full game. It won't stop me from trying, even if I have to play Silent Hill: The Short Message with the lights on.

How to download and play Silent Hill The Short Message

At the time of its announcement, Silent Hill: The Short Message was made available to download and play on PlayStation 5. Simply search for the game in the PlayStation store. It is only available on PlayStation 5, so PC and Xbox player will have to look elsewhere for their horror fix.

Silent Hill: The Short Message follows Anita as she searches for her missing friend, Maya. All she had to go was cryptic messages from Maya, which led her to an abandoned and crumbling apartment building. Rumors of suicides don't scare her away, but she soon finds herself haunted and hunted by a twisted monster as she searches for some mysterious item. But will she be able to escape once she finds it?
