Anime Defenders players aren’t happy with Athenyx Realm in Update 5

Fans of the popular Roblox experience Anime Defenders have voiced their frustration over the latest Athenyx Realm in Update 5, claiming changes in the update have resulted in the game being unbalanced and pay-to-win. Because of that, fans have proposed some solutions to the developers to try and resolve the issues.

One fan, Savage Wind, has shared their suggestions on the game's official Discord server, drawing support from fans.

One of the most requested features from the community is the introduction of a x2 Speed option. Fans argue that the progression is too slow, which makes the game boring and frustrating. "Stop being so hungry for premium payouts; you get enough," Savage Wind commented, highlighting the developers' focus on monetization. This is not an unreasonable request, as it's possible to speed up the match in many other Roblox tower defense titles.

I'm with my fellow fans on this, as speed-up is an important option in tower defense games. Grinding levels with little to do, especially if it's infinite mode, is just not a fun way to spend your time.

Another thing that has upset fans is the lack of a Secret Pity system for the Athenyx units. According to Savage Wind and other players, grinding for new units is hard and tedious. As if that's not enough, chances of pulling for secret units are slim, making the absence of a pity system unfair. "You guys even said in an announcement that there would be a secret pity. You can't just promise something and not give it," a fan remarked, urging the developers to keep their promises.

The community also demands changes to the "only one unit" challenge. According to players, some maps are nearly impossible to beat without owning The Gamer secret unit, which limits gameplay for those without it. Savage Wind, backed by other fans, offers a solution to restrict the challenge to just one enemy type instead of requiring one unit to handle ground, burrow, and flying enemies simultaneously.

Token grinding is another area where players are seeking improvements. Fans describe the current method as "boring and time-consuming," with minimal rewards for the effort required to earn them. They suggest that developers allow players to receive tokens as rewards, making the grind less monotonous.

To further help players, Savage Wind urges that all Athenyx content counts toward daily and weekly quests. For some reason, anything you do in the Athenyx realm is not counted for those rewards.
As if that's not enough, players are not satisfied with new Athenyx units, as they don't offer much, although they're hard to obtain. In fact, fans think that it's not worth the effort to unlock them as old units, especially Mythics, have better stats.

The developers of Anime Defenders have yet to respond to these concerns. The development team stated earlier that they respect players' opinions, going so far as to organize voting and let fans decide about the new game content. They'll decide if the fan base is right and if the next update implements some of these ideas.
