AFK Journey Tier List – All Artifacts, Ranked

Which should you equip?

There are many choices to be made as you progress through idle fantasy anime RPG AFK Journey. If you’ve advanced far enough to start having to make artifact choices, read on for my ranked tier list of the best artifacts in AFK Journey.

The best AFK Journey Artifacts, Ranked

There are six artifacts available at launch, which are slowly made available as you progress through the game. Unlike in the previous iteration, artifacts are not connected to a character. Instead, you can choose one of your available artifacts each time you head into a battle. Also, just because an artifact arrives later in the story doesn’t mean it’s going to be better than the ones you already have.

Note that the following ratings are not constants. Different artifacts will be useful in certain situations and your preference may vary depending on who you choose to put in your best team. There are no genuinely bad artifacts, as even the C-grade ones here are just not usually quite as good as their comparable alternatives.

Best S-Tier artifacts in AFK Journey

Starshard Spell is a very powerful attacking artifact, dealing True Damage in a flame wave to all enemies after 4 ultimates are cast by your team. It also slows the enemies’ attack speed. When you get it to +4 the damage multiplier gets a nice bump, while at +8 it triggers after just 3 ultimates. The downside is it needs those ultimates to trigger to work effectively.

Confining Spell is another attacking artifact but it triggers after 3 seconds and then every 12 seconds, regardless of ultimates. It targets 2 enemies at the back of the battlefield, helping you take down those support characters.

Awakening Spell is the first artifact you’ll get but it stays useful throughout the game. It triggers 5 seconds into the battle and then every 10 seconds afterward, healing your 3 weakest heroes.

Best B-Tier artifacts in AFK Journey

Enlightening Spell is good for certain teams but is very situational. It speeds up your hero furthest to the back of the battlefield at the start of the battle for 15 seconds. The affected hero also can’t be controlled. On the downside the effect doesn’t stack so other heroes that affect your attack speed won’t be as effective.

Best C-Tier artifacts in AFK Journey

Ironwall Spell and Blazing Spell are both solid artifacts but generally speaking, I would take Enlightening over Ironwall as a defensive artifact and Starshard or Confining over Blazing on offense.
