Alan Wake 2 is unraveling the mysteries of Alan Wake and his battle between realities further, introducing new story elements, characters, and more. With the addition of new faces in the game, we expect some more actors to be added to the cast, and I was thrilled to see some names that we can all recognize.
Alan Wake 2 main cast list
With the unique mixture of live-action content with usual game animation, we see a whole new kind of atmosphere for the game, and it also utilizes the cast differently as well. Some characters we will see live, or their replicated facial features, while others simply for their vocal talent. Take a look at the main characters introduced below.
Matthew Porretto - Alan Wake (voice)
Matthew Porretto is coming back again to reprise his role as Alan Wake's well-known voice. He has voiced the character throughout the series, even lending his voice to the live-action series Bright Falls. He is not only a big part of the Alan Wake universe but has contributed to many more great game titles like Control, Quantum Break, Red Dead Redemption, Starfield, and more.
Ikka Villi - Alan Wake (live)
Ikka Villi is the face of Alan Wake, not only in the games but also in the live-action Bright Falls. We will see him again as the live-action Alan in Alan Wake 2 and as the model for Alan's game animation character. Ikka is known for quite a few acting roles in television series but is newer to the world of video games.
Melanie Liburd - Saga Anderson
Melanie Liburd plays the new main protagonist for Alan Wake 2, Saga Anderson, an FBI agent seeking to uncover the truth behind Alan Wake and the cult activity. Although she's appeared in big TV titles like Game of Thrones, Dark Matter, The Idol, and This is Us, this is her first video game appearance.

Shawn Ashmore - Sheriff Tim Breaker
Shawn Ashmore is a very recognizable figure in all forms of media, appearing in other well-known games like Quantum Break and The Dark Pictures and series like The Boys, The Rookie, and more. He is coming over to the Alan Wake world as Sheriff Tim Breaker of the town Bright Falls. His character has yet to be shown in trailers and previews and remains a mystery until diving into the game for yourself.
David Harewood - Mr. Door
David Harewood plays Mr. Door in Alan Wake 2, a character that has been mentioned in previous games, like Control, as a seemingly omnipresent figure that can travel between realities and into people's dreams. With this in mind, we can potentially see David play as a live-action and animated character in the experience. He has plenty of experience with doing both, playing in roles like Supergirl and The Flash and voicing characters in other video games like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Horizon Zero Dawn.
James McCaffery - Alex Casey
James McCaffery is best known for his roles as Max Payne in the Max Payne series of games, as well as his appearances in Control and plenty of popular TV series like Blue Bloods, proving he plays an authoritative figure quite well. He is joining Alan Wake 2 as FBI agent Alex Casey, a partner of the main protagonist Saga.
Janina Gavankar - Agent Kiran Estevez
Janina Gavankar has been the face and voice of other recognizable video game characters, most notably as the main protagonist, Tanta Sila, in Forspoken. However, she has also appeared in God of War: Ragnarok and Borderlands and also on plenty of television series. She plays a lesser role in Alan Wake 2 as another fellow FBI agent, Kiran Estevez.
Martti Suosalo - Ahti
Even lesser characters really make the unique environments of Alan Wake, and this is proved again by the addition of popular Finnish actor and producer Martti Suosalo. He is reprising his role as Ahti, as seen in the past game, Control. He can be seen performing on stage in certain parts of the game.

Poets of the Fall - Old Gods of Asgard
Another exciting addition to the cast is the iconic Finnish metal band Poets of the Fall, who played the fictional band Old Gods of Asgard, founded by the Alan Wake characters Tor and Odin Anderson in the previous Alan Wake games, and the additional members, Bob Balder and Loki Darkens. They will be featured again in Alan Wake 2 as the same band, but, according to Sam Lake, 'younger versions at the height of their power.' They will introduce us to plenty of new songs and special easter egg moments during the experience.
Additional voices and cast
There are plenty of other additional voices added to the experience, with each interesting character introduced to the story, whether they be short or story-significant roles. With the unique multi-media twist, we will be able to see a mixture of live-action scenes of actors alongside the voiced animated characters. Sam Lake himself is teased to be featured in small clips of the colliding realities.
All these actors do a lot to make Alan Wake the mysterious and lively world that it is, bringing us well-delivered voice acting and realistic-looking characters. You'll be able to see them come to life and learn more about each individual as you jump into the experience.
