How Map Rotation has changed for Apex Legends Season 13: Saviors

A faster rotation than ever before.

Apex Legends started with one Battle Royale map being present per season. The two-map rotation shook things up when it debuted, but not as much as the three-map rotation did when it was introduced in Season 10. This format has been used for every season since, except for Season 11, which reverted to the two-map format. Season 13 will also have a three-map rotation, but the rotation style is changing.

Map Rotation in Apex Legends used to be made up of three different varieties of time block: 1 hour, 1 hour and 30 minutes, and 2 hours. For Season 13: Saviors, the two-hour time blocks have been removed from the rotation. This prevents a map that a player doesn’t like from being in play for their whole session.

Going forward, the longest a map will be in play in the Duos, and Trios rotation is 1 hour and 30 minutes, which is still a long time but not quite as brutal. If a map you don’t care for pops up? Maybe it’s time to take a little break.
