How to unlock and upgrade Tools in AC Mirage

Learn the tools of the trade.

While an Assassin must rely on their parkour and stealth skills, I find tools are an essential part of Assassin's Creed Mirage. With Basim's tools, I can distract guards, kill enemies from far away, or take enemies out in non-lethal manners. Basim can employ various tools, some of which must be unlocked and others can be upgraded to be more effective. Let's look at how to unlock and upgrade all tools in AC Mirage.

How to unlock all tools in Assassin's Creed Mirage

You'll unlock the Throwing Knives and Torch through the Prologue, but the remaining tools must be unlocked after progressing through the story. You must both unlock an additional slot on your Tool Capacity and unlock your desired tool. Here are all the tools in Assassin's Creed Mirage.

  • Throwing Knives
    • Unlocked during Prologue.
  • Torch
    • Unlocked during Prologue.
  • Blow Dart
    • Must get the Extra Tool Capacity skill, then unlock at the Assassin Bureau.
  • Noise Maker
    • Must get the Extra Tool Capacity skill, then unlock at the Assassin Bureau.
  • Smoke Bomb
    • Must get the Extra Tool Capacity skill, then unlock at the Assassin Bureau.
  • Trap
    • Must get the Extra Tool Capacity skill, then unlock at the Assassin Bureau.

How to upgrade tools in Assassin's Creed Mirage

To upgrade tools in Assassin's Creed Mirage, you'll need to collect the necessary materials and go to a Hidden Ones Bureau. Once there, you can unlock an upgrade tier and select the upgrade you want. Here are all the tool upgrades in Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Throwing Knives Upgrades

  • Tier 1: 15 Leather, 20 Components, 35 Steel
    • Extra Capacity: Increase Throwing Knife ammunition by two.
    • Extended Range: Increase Throwing Knife distance by nine meters.
    • Sharp Blade: Increase Throwing Knife damage by 50%.
  • Tier 2: 55 Leather, 90 Components, 25 Steel
    • Poison Tip: Throwing Knives apply poision.
    • Heavy Blade: Staggers enemies.
    • Light Blade: Allows for charged throws, increasing Throwing Knife damage and range.
  • Tier 3: 40 Leather, 150 Components, 100 Steel
    • Corrode Body: Dissolves enemy corpses on death.
    • Armor Piercing: Throwing Knives penetrate enemy armor.

Blow Dart Upgrades

  • Tier 1: 30 Leather, 60 Components, 20 Steel
    • Extra Capacity: Increase Blow Dart ammunition by two.
    • Extended Range: Increase Blow Dart distance by seven meters.
    • Increased Duration: Increase Blow Dart duration by four seconds.
  • Tier 2: 35 Leather, 90 Components, 45 Steel
    • Lethal Dose: Poison enemies instead of putting them to sleep.
    • Potency: Enemy cannot be woken up by other guards. Enraged enemies die when effect ends.
    • Cloud Impact: Blow Dart gains an area of effect.
  • Tier 3: 60 Leather, 150 Components, 80 Steel
    • Berserker Dart: Inflicts rage upon enemy, causing them to attack other guards. Replaces sleep.
    • Deep Slumber: Enemies do not awake after being damaged. Sleep lasts indefinitely.

Noise Maker Upgrades

  • Tier 1: 30 Leather, 60 Components, 20 Steel
    • Extra Capacity: Increase Noise Maker ammunition by three.
    • Extended Range: Increase range of Noise Maker by seven meters.
    • Loud Fuse: Increases area of effect to draw enemies in by five meters.
  • Tier 2: 45 Leather, 90 Components, 35 Steel
    • Weakness: Lowers defense of enemies caught in explosion.
    • Sparks: Noise Makers becomes incendiary.
    • Fireworks: Noise Makers' explosion becomes continuous, distracting enemies longer.
  • Tier 3: 80 Leather, 150 Components, 60 Steel
    • Terror: Noise Makers explosions causes enemies to panic and run.
    • Shockwave: Noise Makers can damage enemies and destroy cages, vases, urns, and fragile walls.

Smoke Bomb Upgrades

  • Tier 1: 35 Leather, 60 Components, 15 Steel
    • Extra Capacity: Increase Smoke Bomb ammunition by two.
    • Extended Range: Increase Smoke Bomb range by seven meters.
    • Durable Smoke: Extends Smoke Bomb duration by four seconds.
  • Tier 2: 55 Leather, 90 Components, 25 Steel
    • Silent Blast: Smoke Bombs become silent and enemies cannot hear them.
    • Choking Fumes: Smoke Bombs now damage enemies.
    • Healing Vapor: Smoke Bombs heal Basim when standing in the smoke.
  • Tier 3: 100 Leather, 40 Steel, 150 Components
    • Flammable Smoke: Smoke Bombs become flammable, igniting if touching fire.
    • Mindwipe: Smoke Bombs make enemies forget spotting Basim.

Trap Upgrades

  • Tier 1: 30 Leather, 60 Components, 20 Steel
    • Extra Capacity: Increases Trap ammunition by two.
    • Extended Range: Increases Trap range by seven meters.
    • Increased Duration: Extends Trap duration.
  • Tier 2: 35 Leather, 90 Components, 45 Steel
    • Whistle Trigger: Basim can trigger Traps by whistling.
    • Fracture: Lowers enemy's defense when triggering Traps.
    • Wide Burst: Increases area of effect for Trap explosion.
  • Tier 3: 60 Leather, 150 Components, 80 Steel
    • Lingering Knockback: Increases Trap knockback effect.
    • Deadly Blast: Traps become lethal with an explosion.
