If you are experiencing the DXGL_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET error when you try to play Battlefield 2042, don't worry, there are a few ways to fix it.
To fix the DXGL_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET error, first, try updating your graphics card to the latest version. Start by downloading DDU and installing the program.
We also recommend using DDU, as it is very helpful tool that allows users to uninstall drivers for graphics cards cleanly.

That said, along with DDU, make sure to get the latest version of your GPU driver by going to the manufacturer's website. After you download both the driver uninstaller and the latest driver for your GPU, follow the steps below to update your graphic card driver.
- Launch DDU and select your device type and card brand
- Click Clean and restart
- Wait for the program to uninstall your driver
- When it finishes, restart your PC (DDU should do this automatically)
- After the restart, click on your latest driver and install it
Once you update your driver to the latest version, launch Battlefield 2042 and see if the problem has gone away. If you still encounter the DXGL_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET error, try updating DirectX next.
You can update DirectX either by downloading the latest version from Microsoft. You can also update DirectX by having windows check for an update via the check for updates button under the update tab in windows settings.
