Prepare

Before starting Beat Saber, make sure you are ready to play. Ensure that you have plenty of room where you intend to play. It would also be good to stretch before playing, as Beat Saber can be quite the workout. Doing some prep work before starting is a good way to get yourself in the right mindset to play and succeed.

Grip

Grip plays a large part in Beat Saber. There are many different types of grips to use, and it would be a good idea to try them all until you find one that feels most comfortable. Another thing to remember is your motion. Try to swing just your wrist, not your whole arm. This will improve your speed and prevent you from getting fatigued as quickly. We recommend checking out the BSMG Wiki to see all the different types of grips. Give them all a shot until one feels right for you!

Speed

Speed is important for Beat Saber, especially as you play faster songs. We recommend switching over to no-fail mode and trying some of the faster songs with the purpose of just hitting the notes. Then return to normal play and try them again. If you find you are having trouble with a particular part, reduce the speed of that part until you can complete it. Once you are comfortable with it, try increasing the speed to better your tempo.

Focus

Your mindset plays a huge role in Beat Saber. It can be easy to miss a note and lose focus, causing you to miss even more notes. If you feel you are getting tense or panicking, take a step back and relax. Take a break from Beat Saber or hop into practice mode until you get your mind back in the right place. Sometimes it is better to stop than try and force yourself to succeed.

Practice

Whether you are just starting out or have been playing for a while, you are never too good to practice, especially when you are new to Beat Saber. Practice things that are giving you trouble, and practice things that feel comfortable. When you find a technique, rhythm, etc. that feels good, stick with it and practice it. There are many different ways to play Beat Saber, and you need to find the way that feels best for you.

These are some important areas to focus on and improve in Beat Saber. Getting good at the game will take some time, but you will be well on the way to becoming an expert Beat-Saber player with the right mindset and practice.
