Installing custom songs to your Oculus Quest is done by using mods. Always keep in mind that mods are not created or approved by the developer of the game, but are made by the community. Utilizing mods may lead to various technical issues such as game crashes or corrupted files, as well as potential account banning. Game updates also have a tendency to break mod support, so you'll need to be careful when updating your game. Follow the below steps at your own risk!

Step 1: Activate Developer Mode on your Oculus

Enabling developer mode on your Oculus will allow users to sideload apps and content.

  • Install the Oculus App on your mobile device.
  • Navigate to the Settings Button and click it.
  • Select your Oculus Device from the list.
  • Click the More Settings option.
  • Tap on the Developer mode option, and enable Developer mode.

  • Download the version that is compatible with your operating system and run the installer.
  • Connect your Oculus Quest or Quest 2 to your PC using a link cable.
  • You can now put your headset on and select Allow at the the USB debugging message.
  • Your headset should now be connected with SideQuest.

Step 3: Backup Beat Saber (Optional)

It is a good idea to create a backup off Beat Saber before moving on. If there are any issues with the sideloading process or a file gets corrupted, you can just reload your original copy of Beat Saber to your quest. While this step is not necessary to complete this process, it is highly recommended.

  • Open SideQuest on your PC and click the folder icon in the top bar of the app.
  • Navigate to Android > Data and click the save disk icon next to com.beatgames.beatsaber.
  • Select Save to PC

BMBF will allow the installation of custom songs on newer versions of Beat Saber.

  • You can then put on your headset to continue the setup.
  • Open the Oculus Menu and navigate to your Library (right side of Home Bar).
  • Select Unknown Sources from the drop down menu in the top right corner of the window.
  • Then you can select BMBF.
  • Select continue when the BMBF window loads up.
  • Select the Uninstall Beat Saber button, then select OK.
  • Once that finishes you can select the Patch Beat Saber button (will take a while)
  • Once that is complete, select Install modded Beat Saber.

Step 5: Sideload songs with SyncSaber

Now that you are able to successfully sideload songs using BNBF, you will need to sync those songs with your Oculus using SyncSaber. Luckily SyncSaber is built right into BMBF so all you will need is an account that can work with SyncSaber.

  • Visit the BeastSaber website and select the Log In button (easiest on PC)
  • Follow the steps to register for an account.
  • Now put your Oculus back on and open BMBF.
  • Select the SyncSaber tab on the top of the screen and enter your Beat Saber username.
  • Now just browse the BMBF website and look for songs that you might like.
  • When you find a song you want to add to Beat Saber, click the Bookmark icon to bookmark the song.
  • Once you have bookmarked all the songs you want to add, select Sync to Beat Saber in the upper right-hand corner.
  • Then you can select Start Beat Saber in the upper right hand corner and the songs you added will be avilable in game.

So there you have it, that is how you install custom Beat Saber Songs on Oculus Quest. It is a long and complicated process that once again is a risk, however, Beat Saber is at its most fun when you are able to install and play your favorite songs.
