Best Weapon Memories for Ruego Al Alba in Blasphemous 2

The Ruego Al Alba became my favorite weapon in Blasphemous 2, partly because it reminds me of the Meu Culpa. If you selected this weapon at the start of the game, you'll see that you can upgrade it by unlocking Memories. However, the question of what Memories you should purchase for the Ruego Al Alba remains.

Best Upgrades for The Praying Blade in Blasphemous 2

There are three levels of upgrades for the Ruego Al Alba. Unlocking a new tier gives you access to new Memories, but some of these are locked behind other Memories in that same tier. Here is the order I recommend picking up upgrades for Blasphemous 2's Ruego Al Alba.

Best Tier 1 Memory Upgrades - Ruego Al Alba

1. Crimson Warmonger
   • Press Up + Square to perform a Crimson Ascension. Press Down + Square to perform a Crimson Cyclone.
2. Mystical Striker
   • Increases Mythical damage inflicted.
3. Blood Pact
   • Hold R1 + Square with the gauge full to activate Blood Pact. Empowers all hits from Ruego Al Alba with additional hits of Mystical damage. Charge the by dealing damage with Ruego Al Alba.
4. Reaper Rosary
   • Press R1 during Blood Pact to launch a devastating slash at superhuman speed. Partially consumes the Blood Pact gauge.
5. Retribution
   • Pressing R1 at the last moment unleashes a devastating slash that strikes multiple times.

Best Tier 2 Memory Upgrades - Ruego Al Alba

1. Covenant of Atonement
   • Hits during Blood Pact regenerate the Penitent One's health.
2. Blessed Steel
   • Increases the base damage of Ruego Al Alba.
3. Crimson Cleaver
   • Press Square four times. Adds a powerful downward slash with enhanced Stun damage at the end of the combo.
4. Relentless Power
   • Increases the ability to stun enemies.
5. Determination
   • Increases base defense.
6. Weight of Justice
   • Creates a wave of increased Mystical damage when performing Weight of Sin from a great height.

Best Tier 3 Memory Upgrades - Ruego Al Alba

1. Sacred Steel
   • Increases the base damage of Ruego Al Alba.
2. Cold Blood
   • Increases the duration of Blood Pact.
3. Crimson Advocacy
   • Upgrades the boosted Mystical damage added during Blood Pact.
4. Crimson Glaive
   • Upgrades the power of the Crimson Clash with a ground-level shockwave.
5. Reaper Prayer
   • Halves the cost of Reaper Rosary.

How to upgrade Ruego Al Alba in Blasphemous 2

Scattered throughout Cvstodia are statues holding weapons. You must find the statues holding the Ruego Al Alba. These can appear in various places depending on which weapon you selected and what weapons you have on you. Interact with the statues, and you can purchase higher-tier Memories with Marks of Martyrdom.
