The developer, Team Cherry, has diligently been working on the sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, which started as an expansion to the original before becoming a new title altogether. What is the release date of Hollow Knight: Silksong?

The fabled sequel to the acclaimed Hollow Knight does not have an official release date. But there is certain evidence that points to a reveal soon. This comes from a response from Matthew Griffin to Geoff Keighley's Tweet about the upcoming Summer Games Fest.

Matthew Griffin is involved in the marketing and publishing for Hollow Knight: Silksong and Crowsworn. Many fans believe that this response could hint at more Hollow Knight: Silksong information being revealed. But it could also be in regards to Crowsworn or nothing at all.

Although fans got to see a closer look at the title during Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, there was still no update to the expected release of Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Will Hollow Knight: Silksong be on PC/Xbox Game Pass?

During Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, an updated trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong was debuted. At the end of this trailer, a confirmation for game pass eligibility was shown. Players can play Hollow Knight: Silksong day one on Xbox Game Pass. There is currently no word on whether or not the game will release on PC Game Pass.

What platforms will Hollow Knight: Silksong be on?

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been confirmed for a PC and Nintendo Switch release, as well as on Xbox with Game Pass. While the prequel is available on other platforms, it has not been revealed if Hollow Knight: Silksong would also come to these.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is the follow-up to Hollow Knight and has many similar features, namely being a Metroidvania. You can expect to explore various environments, learn numerous skills and moves, as well as collect a variety of collectibles and upgrades.

Is Hollow Knight: Silksong a sequel?

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a sequel to Hollow Knight but will feature a different protagonist and a different world. The story follows the famous Hornet, who debuted in Hollow Knight as one of the first bosses encountered. It is not known yet how her story will tie into that Hollow Knight's in this sequel.

Players will find themselves in a new kingdom full of wonderous areas such as mossy grottos, coral forests, gilded cities, and more. All of this leads to a gleaming citadel at the top of the world and possibly multiple secrets to uncover.

Is the Hollow Knight in Hollow Knight: Silksong?

The protagonist from Hollow Knight has not been shown to appear in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Rather than follow the original story, the sequel shines a spotlight on Hornet as she finds herself in a strange and mysterious new land.
