Days after the official announcement of the 2023 Call of Duty, the developers shared info on the content that will carry forward from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3. If you have unlocked content and made cosmetic purchases in the current game, rejoice, as you'll be able to enjoy them in the next CoD installment.
Content Carry Forward from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3
On its November 10 release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will include the following content from Modern Warfare 2, its predecessor:
- Weapons along with the attachments and camos you've unlocked for them. You will be able to receive these unlockables by completing the challenges in MW3 and in MW2, of course.
- Operators from MW2 that you have unlocked.
- Cosmetics you've purchased from the CoD Store, including operator skins, weapon blueprints, vehicle skins, emblems, calling cards, and more.
What content will not carry over from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3?
In general, you can say all aforementioned content from MW2 will be available in MW3, along with the latter's own set of weapons, operators, camos, etc. However, there are some caveats to this rule. Here's a list of content that will not carry over from MW2 to MW3:
- Certain vehicles and their vehicle skins that aren't supposed to be fundamentally present in MW3.
- Wartracks that you've been playing on your vehicles.
- Tactical and Lethal Equipment and their skins if they're not in MW3.
- You won't be able to use MW2 camos on MW3 guns, and vice versa.
