If you try to attempt the Master mode of the Avatar of Ruin Beast Raid right from the off, you'll see that it's locked. To unlock this mode, you need to clear all the previous difficulties from Easy to Expert. If you face difficulty clearing any previous levels, you can still refer to this guide as it would provide the right setups that work for every difficulty.

Moreover, you'll require a special item called the 'Beast Raid: Avatar of Ruin Ticket' to attempt these stages. You can get one ticket every six hours, and buy two additional tickets daily for 400 Crystals.

The most important part of the beast raid is choosing the right teams. You can bring up to three teams in this mode, and switch between them during combat. For the Avatar of Ruin boss, these are the three team compositions that you should try to have:

Team 1

Your first team should consist of mostly Fire-type Cookies. This team would be your main damage dealer as the Avatar of Ruin is only vulnerable to Burn debuffs, and immune to all others. Here's a complete breakdown of the team:

CookiePriorityReason
Burning Spice CookieEssentialBurning Spice Cookie is a must for the Master mode of Avatar of Ruin. It can consistently inflict burn debuff while dealing high burst damage with its skill.
Tarte Tatin CookieEssentialAnother essential DPS for your team that can excel in dealing with Fire Damage and inflicting Burn debuff.
Cream Ferret CookieEssentialArguably the best support cookie for this mode. It can shield, heal, and buff all your allied cookies to increase the DPS.
Street Urchin CookieReplaceableA good bomber cookie to provide extra burst DPS, that can deal extra damage when supported by Cream Ferret and Burning Spice cookies.
Nutmeg Tiger CookieReplaceableAnother good support cookie that can also provide extra DPS and summon minions to tank damage.

While the above team would be the most optimal setup, there are a few replaceable cookies that you can use in case you don't have some of them. Cream Unicorn cookie can be used to replace Nutmeg Tiger because she can provide similar support to your team.

Similarly, you can use Pitaya Dragon or Rye Cookie as an alternative to Street Urchin Cookie. As for treasures, the Sleepyhead's Jelly Watch or Squishy Jelly Watch is a must for this lineup.

Team 2

For your second team, you should create a Water/Earth-type cookie setup that can take out the Avatar of Ruin's shield that appears in between phases of the boss. Here's a complete breakdown of which cookies you should have:

CookiePriorityReason
Burnt Cheese CookieEssentialOne of the most reliable Earth-type frontline cookies that can tank most hits from the Avatar of Ruin while also dishing out decent DPS.
Golden Cheese CookieEssentialA top-tier Earth-type DPS is essentially the core of this lineup. With the right build, she'll be the one who will break the boss's shield quickly.
Sea Fairy CookieEssentialThe Sea Fairy is a Water-type bomber who will deal with a ton of water DMG. She excels in dealing with burst damage with her explosive skills.
Mozzarella CookieReplaceableSupport plus magic damage dealer that can buff every Earth-type ally while also dealing decent DPS.
Captain Caviar CookieReplaceableLike the Sea Fairy Cookie, the Captain Caviar Cookie is also here to dish out Water DMG with his burst skills.

You can either equip the Old Pilgrim's Scroll or the Dream Conductor's Whistle to this lineup for treasure.

Team 3

Your third team isn't as important as the above two and essentially serves as a backup in case your second team gets hit with any of the Avatar of Ruin's skills. Here's the setup that you can have for this team:

CookiePriorityReason
Fettucine CookieEssentialA sturdy Earth-type defense cookie, that can act as a good alternative like the Burnt Cheese Cookie.
Black Pearl CookieEssentialOne of the strongest Water-type DPS cookies that can deal tons of Water DMG in bursts.
Peppermint CookieEssentialA strong water-type support cookie that can heal all allied cookies while also providing useful buffs like DMG Resist and Debuff Resist.
Snapdragon CookieReplaceableAnother strong support cookie that can increase your team's ATK, provide healing, and also have a decent DPS.
Mystic Flower CookieReplaceableOne of the best support cookies to have on your team, but the only downside is that she is quite hard to get.

Any of the Jelly Watches or the Dream Conductor's Whistle are a good treasure choice for this lineup.

Avatar of Ruin Master Mode Strategy

There are two phases to the Avatar of Ruin Master Mode Beast Raid. The second phase starts when the boss's HP drops below 50%. Each phase requires a unique strategy to complete, so here's what you need to do.

Phase 1

The first phase is when you'll have to deal most of your damage. During this phase, the boss is immune to all debuffs except Burn and takes increased Fire DMG (250% of base) so your Fire-type team has to be deployed first. When you take out the boss' shield in this phase, two of its paws will appear.

The paws take increased damage from Water and Earth-type attacks, so you'll have to switch to your second or third team to deal with them. After you beat the paws, you'll have to tap a few times to break the shield. Repeat this till the boss's HP drops below 50%.

Phase 2

During the second phase, the boss will launch skills that you'll have to dodge. The Ruinous Blade skill can one-shot your entire team if you don't dodge correctly.

Unfortunately, the dodge is completely random, so if you're unlucky, you might have to start the run again. The upside is that this phase isn't as long, so you'll have to dodge at most 2-3 skills.
