Can you use the Left Hand command in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2)?

We have bad news for you!

Want to know if it's possible to use Left Hand viewmodel in Counter-Strike 2? I was also eager to find out about it the moment Valve announced that Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) had been launched for everyone. Similar to its predecessor, the player model in CS2 will by default hold weapons and equipment in the right hand. But can you use the left-hand view model in Counter-Strike 2? Let's find out.

Does the Left-Hand command work in Counter-Strike 2?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use the left-hand command in Counter-Strike 2, meaning players are stuck with the default right-hand view model. Although in CS:GO, players could easily equip the left-hand viewer model by opening the console commands and typing "cl_righthand 0", this command does not work at all in Counter-Strike 2, as of the time of writing. Moreover, there's no option in the game's settings menu to change the hand view model.

As of now, we don't know the reason behind why Valve removed the left-hand option in Counter-Strike 2. Some players speculate that it may be because the game now features player shadows and feet, which could make it more difficult to see the weapon on the left side of the screen. However, players have been requesting that Valve add the left-handed weapon option back in Counter-Strike 2.

Why do Counter-Strike players prefer to play left-hand?

There are different reasons why some players prefer to use the left hand in Counter-Strike. One reason is that since most people read from left to right, there is a natural instinct to prefer scanning from left to right and having the weapon on the left side of the screen can help with this. Another reason is that some players believe that using the left hand can help them work with recoil easier, especially with rifles like AK47.

However, it is important to note that left-handed orientation is a personal preference of some players, like their gameplay resolution. Ultimately, whether to use the left or right hand in Counter-Strike is a matter of personal preference and what feels most comfortable for the player.
