Should you replay Cyberpunk 2077 after Update 2.0?

There is much to consider here.

The anticipated Cyberpunk 2.0 update is finally out, which is why many veterans are wondering whether to replay the game or not. There are many major changes and additional stuff added to the game, so it gets hard to decide. After playing Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, here is what I will recommend you to do.

Should I start a new game in Cyberpunk 2.0?

The short answer is yes, you should replay the main Cyberpunk story again, especially if you plan to get the Phantom Liberty DLC. The 2.0 update features a new cyberware system with armor and cyberware bonuses, a reworked perk system, better visuals, and most importantly, a new ending.

On X (formerly Twitter), the developers even recommend players should replay Cyberpunk 2077, saying, "We recommend starting a new game after @CyberpunkGame Update 2.0. Due to the number of changes, starting fresh will enhance your overall gameplay experience." Most players happily agreed this is the best way forward, while some were unhappy.

Furthermore, the new DLC Phantom Liberty starts right after you finish the main story. I recommend replaying the game, because once you have a feel for the new perks and changes with the 2.0 update, Phantom Liberty will be all the more fun and allow you to make a more personal character than your old one.

There is also a secret ending you can unlock during the story, so you can replay the game just for that. Overall, the new changes and added stuff make Cyberpunk 2077 feel like a complete game where you can have a lot of fun and refresh your memory —or follow a different path for the story before going to Phantom Liberty DLC.
