The Light and Dark saga is coming to a head in Destiny 2. With less than two weeks before the release of Lightfall, Bungie posted a ViDoc highlighting what to expect in the upcoming expansion. A lot of the information has already been made known during the last months of news posts from Bungie, but it's nice to have it compiled in one easy-to-digest place.
What we know going into Destiny 2 Lightfall
In a special premiere on YouTube, Guardians got a 16-minute feast for the eyes. While developer Bungie didn't focus on anything new, the video does encompass everything we have seen into a neat and flashy package–and we've outlined all of it for you below. While it all looks amazing, seeing Strand in action is most likely to get players excited.

Replacing the grenade ability, Guardians are able to swing through the neon city of Neomuna like Spider-Man. They can also latch onto enemies to stun them before swooping in and exploding the Strand. There were glimpses of Guardians tethering onto sparrows and more, which only got us thinking that this might be the most versatile subclass yet.
Our enemies
The ViDoc wasn't only devoted to Strand, as the introduction teased the Witness. Players will see a lot more of the enigmatic being in Lightfall. Also stepping back into the light will be Calus, now a proper disciple of the Witness. Accompanying Calus and his Typhon Imperator ship are the Tormentors. This new enemy type can wield Void energy and, for the first time in Destiny, grab and lock down Guardians.
Neomuna and the Cloudstriders
Neomuna, in a map size rivaling Europa or Savathun's Throne World, is home to the Cloudstriders. These gigantic beings splintered off from the rest of humanity during the Collapse and have inhabited Neptune ever since. The Cloudstriders aren't alone though. The Vex had also discovered the city ages ago, and the two have been fighting since.
Two Cloudstriders, Nimbus and Rohan, will take center stage as they work with the Guardians to fight back both the Vex and Calus' forces. Rohan serves as the grizzled veteran while Nimbus is the young and cocky rookie. Both look endlessly fascinating, and we're eager to learn more about them and their people.
Season of Defiance
Not content to fight the forces of the Light on Neptune, Calus has also deployed parts of his army to Earth. Guardians must work with Crow, Amanda Holliday, Petra, Misraaks, and Devrim Kay to help defend Earth in a two-front war. It's not only a war about fighting these invading foes, but also protecting the few people still on Earth.
Loadouts and Guardian Ranks
The ViDoc also shows off the loadout system more in-depth. The new feature is designed to be incredibly user-friendly and guide players new to build-crafting through the experience. Once crafted, Guardians will be able to view their entire build on the screen.
Guardian Ranks are a way to guide players through the Destiny experience and give them things to accomplish while adding another leveling system. Based on the ViDoc, there are 11 Guardian Ranks. Six are the default, and Ranks 7 and above are reset every season.
