Doing so will allow you to match your subclass with the currently Active Element Burn. Here's a list of which subclasses to match with each Element Burn:

  • Solar Surge + Solar Subclass
  • Void Surge + Void Subclass
  • Arc Surge + Arc Subclass
  • Stasis Surge + Stasis Subclass
  • Strand Surge + Strand Subclass

Matching your subclass with the Active Elemental Burn allows you to deal 25% extra damage to opponents. The damage increase applies to all sources, which means weapons, abilities, and grenades will receive the boost.
