Necromancer is one of the most popular classes in Diablo 4, so it should come as no surprise to see it once again be the case in Season 2. Necromancer has a variety of different ways to be viable in endgame content and leveling—here's a look at what's shaping up to be the best builds in Season 2.
What is the best Diablo 4 Season 2 Necromancer build?
The Bone Spear build was powerful in Season 1, and the same thing goes for Season 2. This is a build that's good for both leveling and endgame, so you don't even have to make many adjustments once you hit the endgame. Here's a look at what one's skills look like.
- Blood Mist
- Bone Storm
- Corpse Explosion
- Corpse Tendrils
- Bone Splinters
- Bone Spear
- Ossified Essence

Despite nerfs to the build, Bone Spear should be one of the strongest Necromancer builds in Season 2. Obviously, Bone Spear is the main damage dealer here, and Ossified Essence will be essential to making it the strongest it can be. The Harlequin Crest helm, also known as the Shako from Diablo 2, is almost a must-have for the build, as it'll greatly increase your damage.
In Season 2, we have the Vampiric Powers to play around with, and those will help make the build even more viable. When it comes to the Major Powers, Metamorphosis seems like the best option. This allows you to turn into a cloud of bats when you evade while also becoming Unstoppable for four seconds. It's strong in any build, so you can use this with just about anything since evading is so important.
For the Minor Powers, Prey on the Weak would certainly be our pick. You can get away with using something like Ravenous or Undying in a pinch. Basically, all builds work best with Prey on the Weak and Metamorphosis, but feel free to try out some other ideas you might have.
What are good Necromancer builds in Diablo 4 Season 2?
Outside of Bone Spear, there are many viable Necromancer builds for both leveling and endgame. A popular leveling build is Corpse Explosion, but that doesn't translate as nicely to endgame as something Bone Spear or even Bone Spirit does.
When it comes to leveling, you can use a wide variety of builds, but endgame is when you'll want to focus on dealing the most damage possible while staying alive. Bone Spirit, Blood Lance, and the good ol' Summoner Necromancer are all viable options. A lot of these builds are reliant on having the proper Aspects unlocked.
For the Summoner build, you'll want Blood Getter's Aspect and Aspect of Occult Dominion unlocked, for example. It'll be a long season, so you certainly have time to track everything down.
