Disney Dreamlight Valley Vanellope Friendship Level 7 Quest – Boss Up

Prepare for some epic boss battles!

Vanellope's Friendship Level 7 quest has proved to be my favorite quest yet, in which you can team up with her to fight in some epic "boss battles." This quest can be started after unlocking Vanellope, completing her prior Friendships quests, and then building up her Friendship some more. Get ready to make some potions, collect your own mystical weapon, and take on three villains from the Valley. Here's how to get started!

Once you reach Friendship level 7 with Vanellope, either by giving her gifts, completing her role activity, or completing other quests for her, you'll be able to start her quest, "Boss Up." She wants to introduce you to a new activity to do around the Valley: boss fights! You'll need to prepare to fight three different villains: Ursula, Mother Gothel, and Scar.

First, you'll need to craft some "potions," which are three different flavored Boba Teas. If you don't have the recipes already, Vanellope will give them to you so you can quickly learn them by using them from your Inventory. When you have them, you can head to the nearest cooking station, pull up the recipes, and auto-fill them to prepare them more quickly.

You'll need to make a Raspberry Boba Tea, a Mint Boba Tea, and a Coconut Boba Tea. These are fairly easy to make since all you'll need is Milk, Sugarcane, and the proper flavor ingredients. Here's how to make each one:

How to make Raspberry Boba Tea

  • Sugarcane x1
  • Milk x1
  • Raspberry x1

How to make Coconut Boba Tea

  • Sugarcane x1
  • Milk x1
  • Coconut x1

How to make Mint Boba Tea

  • Sugarcane x1
  • Milk x1
  • Mint x1

Once you prepare those, return to Vanellope, and she'll have you follow her to Ursula's house for your first boss battle. This really isn't much of a boss battle, really; you'll just need to speak to her, and she'll tell you to leave. After this, Vanellope believes you need to prepare further for the second boss battle. To do so, you'll need to find a "Mystical Sword" hidden in the Forest of Valor.

The "Mystical Sword" is not too difficult to find. Although it can spawn in a random spot in your Forest of Valor, it stuck pretty well since it is a bright pink color. Look for mushroom stumps around the ground, and you'll see them sticking up from within one. You'll have to use your shovel to dig it out and then collect the Wardrobe Bag that drops out. Use the bag from your inventory, and then you'll be able to equip the "Mystical Sword" as a backpack item.

Now that you have your handy weapon and shield on your back, you can speak to Vanellope again. She'll want you to follow along as she "battles" Mother Gothel. Simply follow her character as she wanders over to Mother Gothel and listen in on their conversation. You can speak to her again once she's done. After their "battle," it's time for you to prepare for the final boss fight with Scar. She'll need you to craft a Scar Lure to trick him.

Creating the bait to lure Scar into his home will require a few different materials you can find around the Valley. The hardest ingredient will be the Kingfish; You may have to wait until night to be able to fish one out of Dazzle Beach if you don't already have one on hand. Here's everything you'll need:

  • Kingfish x1 (From blue fishing spots at night at Dazzle Beach)
  • Herring x3 (From fishing spots at Dazzle Beach and Glade of Trust)
  • Softwood x30 (From the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow)
  • Fiber x30 (Crafted from seaweed found at Dazzle Beach)

Once you have all those, head to the nearest crafting table, and you can create the Scar Lure. Then, you can head with Vanellope to Scar's home and set the bait outside of his cave.

You'll find the Lure inside the Furniture menu, and you can place it down anywhere near the outside of the cave. Then, wait for Vanellope to make her way over and speak with her before heading inside and facing Scar. This is just a quick chat with Scar before finishing off the quest. Be sure to pick up the sparkly loot on the ground, which happens to be a treasure map of sorts. You'll need this for Vanellope's last Friendship quest.

This was a fun adventure to go on with Vanellope that not only let you stock up on some Boba but gave you a cool new cosmetic accessory for your character as well. Keep building your Friendship with Vanellope to get to her final Friendship quest.
