What are all the Vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2?

Here is what each of the vocations (classes) do best and their roles in Dragon's Dogma 2:

  • Fighter: This vocation relies on the sword and shield to fight and always takes enemies head-on in the frontlines.
  • Archer: As the name suggests, these guys stay back and deal damage to enemies from a distance and support the team.
  • Mage: This class is all about supporting with different spells, whether it's healing or dealing extra damage to certain enemies.
  • Thief: Now, we have the thief class, which relies on stealth and lethal blows. This translates to being a good support character and quick on their feet to surprise enemies.
  • Warrior: This class is all about using two-handed weapons to deal maximum damage with the endurance to withstand counterattacks.
  • Sorcerer: This class is essentially a Mage focusing on offensive magic. The spells take time, and they must find a safe place to cast them.

The following vocations are exclusive to the main player and your companions can not use them.

  • Magick Archer: With this class, you get both magic and archery. They have great healing spells and offensive arrows infused with magic.
  • Mystic Spearhand: This class combines fighter and mage to get you a fighter with magic capabilities. They use a unique Duospear that lets them be quick and devastating simultaneously.
  • Trickster: Trickster is a unique class that uses smoke to create illusions to confuse enemies or make them fight among themselves. They can also provide buffs to make your companions more powerful than they are.
  • Warfarer: This class can use weapons and spells from any other class, making it the most versatile. However, this lowers their basic stats, so they have to be careful about how they use their range of abilities in the battle.

Which Vocation (class) to choose at the start of Dragon's Dogma 2

There are four vocations to choose from at the start of Dragon's Dogma 2: Fighter, Archer, Mage, and Thief. You can choose one of these classes for you and your main companion when creating your character. Understanding each of these vocations and some combinations that work best is important.

Unlike some other games, in Dragon's Dogma 2, all classes are good, but where you might mess up is the chemistry between you and your main companion. You should get a class that suits your playstyle and a companion that supports you. Here are some combinations that work well:

  • Fighter and Archer
  • Fighter and Mage
  • Thief and Fighter
  • Archer and Thief
