How to change your character's look in Dragon's Dogma 2 without paying

To change your character's look in Dragon's Dogma 2 without paying, you don't need to immediately visit the barber like in the first game. Instead, head over to Vernsworth and seek out the Grand Riftstone of Vermund.

  1. Find a merchant named Neomith near the Grand Riftstone of Vermund in Vernsworth.
  2. Buy the Art of Metamorphosis book for 500 RC from Neomith.
  3. After snagging the book, head over to Clovis’s Barberie, just across the street.
  4. Chat with Clovis, and you'll see a new option to Modify Appearance.
  5. Dive into the customization menu where you can:
    • Pick a preset look.
    • Whip up a brand-new character.
    • Tweak your current appearance.

And there you have it! Follow these steps, and you'll be able to give your character or pawn a fresh new look, just like starting anew in Dragon's Dogma 2. Thanks to the game's inability to edit save files, or start fresh, you can't really experiment too much with the appearance of your characters.

You should also note that Neomith sells two book copies, and each book allows for a one-time appearance change for your character or your main pawn. I also received a single copy of the book with Deluxe content of my copy of the game, and I noticed I couldn't purchase a second copy from the seller. This leads me to believe Capcom put a hard cap on how many times you will be able to change your appearance without paying through microtransactions.
