How to preserve food in your stash in Dragon's Dogma 2

Food preservation in Dragon's Dogma 2 is surprisingly straightforward, thanks to a unique feature of the player's stash. Here's what you need to know about keeping your consumables fresh:

  • Stashing for Freshness: Any food items placed in your stash will retain their freshness, meaning they won't spoil over time. This includes all types of food, like meats, fruits, and vegetables.
  • Inventory Management: To prevent food from spoiling while you're exploring, it's best to store excess consumables in your stash. You can do that each time you visit an Inn. I made a habit of storing excess materials each time I made a new save. This way, they remain in the same state as when I stored them, ready for use when I retrieve them.
  • Minimal Carry: When venturing out, carry only the food you anticipate needing. This minimizes the risk of spoilage and helps manage your encumbrance, allowing you to collect more items on your journey. Or, you can always craft Roborants and other evolved forms of food, as they don't typically go bad like the raw ingredients.
  • Crafting and Upgrading: Remember that when crafting or upgrading at shops, materials in your stash are automatically used. There's no need to carry all your materials with you, further lightening your load.
  • Time Manipulation: Be cautious with time manipulation, such as using the ox cart to travel or dozing off, as it can accelerate food spoilage in your personal inventory. Plan your travels and rests strategically to minimize the impact on your perishables.
