Clear Convoys for good loot.

Dying Light 2 has two different types of convoys, Military, and Evacuation. Military Convoys are harder to clear but offer the epic weapons, gear, and accessories as rewards, while evacuation convoys valuables, craft parts, and gear. Here is how to clear out each type to reap the benefits.

Military Convoys hold precious cargo abandoned by military troops during the battle. These convoys typically have many biters and a Goon. It is best to clear these convoys during the day to avoid potentially starting a chase, as the Goon makes it hard to avoid making noise. The best way to clear these is to start from the high ground and blow up the gas canisters with Molotovs or grenades. This will kill or maim most of the biters, but it will generate sound.

You can safely kill the virals that spawn from the high ground while keeping away from the Goon. The Goon is big and slow but deals a lot of damage up close, stay on the high ground, and rain throwables on him (throwing knives, Molotovs, etc.) until the Goon is dead. If you run out of throwables, use hit and run tactics with parkour attacks but be sure to dodge his massive attack swings. Once he is down, your free to the spoils of the military convoy! Watch out for the pack of virals that spawns when you open the last truck.

Evacuation Convoy

Evacuation Convoys were left behind by civilians escaping the city during a breakout in the evacuation. These sites are much easier to clear than Military convoys but should still be taken with caution. You will often find biters here, with some biters wearing suits with gas canisters on their bags. If the suits explode, it will generate noise for virals to spawn. These convoys are much safer to take head-on if that's your style.

Watch out for the gas canisters on the ground and the exploding canisters on the biter's packs, they can one-shot you if a weapon mod you have equipped explodes the canister in your face. The High ground strategy works just as well here, but be careful of the spawning virals once you open the last truck.

How to Find Convoys

The convoys can be found littered around the map. The best way to locate potential sites is by using binoculars from the high ground. The convoys are usually low to the ground. Start searching nearby for any ? that appear on the map.
