Elden Ring is the latest title by FromSoftware, a developer notorious for its challenging games. In each of these games, the ability to evade incoming attacks can mean the difference between life and death. One of the best ways to avoid attacks is by dodging. Depending on how your character's gear encumbers you, you'll be able to roll away from attacks more efficiently.
There are three types of rolls in Elden Ring, and which one you get depends on your character's equipment load. The higher your equipment load, the less effective your toll will be. The most beneficial roll in the game with the highest I-frames is the Light Roll, which is only available to those with a modest Equipment Load.
We've listed the effects Equipment load has on character rolls and each type of roll below:
Roll Type | Equipment Load |
---|---|
Light Roll | Equipment Load lower than 30% |
Medium Roll | Equipment Load from 30% to 70% |
Heavy Roll | Equipment Load at 70% to 100% |
No Roll | Equipment Load above 100% |
Those looking to raise their equipment load in Elden Ring would do well to put stat points into the Endurance tree, as this directly impacts how much weight The Tarnished can handle.
