For new players, Farming Simulator 22 is incredibly intimidating. You will not be able to find a tutorial if you want to play the game correctly, and even then, it is pretty bad. You'll need to start the game on New Farmer to access the tutorial.
This is easy to avoid since it starts them out for them instead of letting them begin independently. However, if they don't pick this, there will be no tutorial. This tutorial has a problem because it only shows you how to do four things, not how to build an effective farm.
Our recommendation is to visit Farming Simulator Academy, the developer's online resource. There are detailed instructions for every game aspect, including setting up your farm, machinery, and animal husbandry. The new content of Farming Simulator 22 is added frequently, so check back often.
If you're more of a hands-on learner, master the most critical machines. New Farmer mode provides the majority of them at the start. You can, however, buy or lease the vehicles you need when you need them if you choose the normal mode.
- Tractor - Probably the most important machine on your farm. Increasing crop yields and your farm's size will require more power. While playing the game, you will probably upgrade your tractor multiple times.
- Cultivator - You will turn over your fields and till the soil in preparation for planting.
- Weeder - You will have weeds in your fields, and you can remove them with the weeder. This will keep yields from getting penalized.
- Seeding Machine - Exactly what it says on the tin. Following the cultivation of your field, you can use the seeding machine to sow your crops and fill them with seeds.
- Fertilizer Spreader - You can use this to fertilize and lime your soil. Ensure you know what kind of spreader you have because not all models are compatible with lime.
- Harvester - You'll need this machine to harvest your fields. Before harvesting, you should ensure you have installed the correct header on your harvester for the field you intend to harvest. The grain header will be ideal as a starter unit because you can use it in most produce.
- Trailer - You'll need one of these to transport your harvested crops to stores for sale.
