FFXIV – How to play Ranged DPS in Crystalline Conflict

Play FFXIV like an Overwatch Widomaker main.

Crystalline Conflict is keeping the FFXIV fandom alive and thriving. As the game grows in popularity, more and more gamers find themselves dedicated to ranking up. That means that opponents are going to get much smarter, though. Ranged DPS is a great playstyle with classes that excel at pelting enemies from afar.

How to rank up in Crystalline Conflict with Ranged DPS

The number one priority for any Ranged DPS players is positioning. Ranged DPS players can be most effective by positioning themselves to where they can take minimal damage and still have a presence in the fight. This means no rushing in solo. Ranged DPS players will want teammates to start the engagement and then follow up by punishing the enemy with their ranged attacks.

To position intelligently, ranged DPS players should also keep track of the opposing team composition and which threats they need to worry about. Say, for instance, the enemy has a Ninja. Any Ranged DPS player should be worried about this since the Ninja can use Shukuchi to get past the frontline and into the Ranged DPS player's grill.

Therefore, it's up to the Ranged DPS player to do whatever they can to deal with that Ninja. Once it's dead, though, they will likely be free to fire off damage from range without fear of retaliation. This is the ideal situation for any Ranged DPS player.

The other skill players of any job should acquire is keeping track of opponent MP. Several characters lose a lot of their presence on the map once their MP is gone. If this happens, it's an opportunity for the Ranged DPS player to position more aggressively.
