Quest preparation for Patch 6.3

One thing you definitely need to make sure you’ve done before Patch 6.3 is get up to date with all the various quest lines that will be getting updated/continued. Below we’ve made added the details of what you need to make sure you’ve done:

  • Tataro’s Grand Endeavor
  • Shadows of Mhach, Heavensward Alliance raids
  • Agalia alliance raid
  • All 6.2 MSQ
  • All Chronicles of a New Era quests

Max out Tomestones before Patch 6.3

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This is a no-brainer every patch and update, but you should make sure your Tomestones are maxed out ahead of the release of Patch 6.3. This means all Allagan Tomestones of Poetics, Astronomy, and Causality. This is for a number of reasons, but mainly because we’ll be getting upgrades for crafted gear that will likely only be purchasable through Tomestones. We’ll also likely be getting another Tomestone type in patch 6.4, so it’s best to make sure you’re stockpiling Tomestones now and spending them when you can.

Grind out Agalia raid, get Agalia Coins

The first 24-man Alliance raid of Endwalker was Agalia, and with it dropped Agalia Coins. Agalia Coins, as of now, are traded to receive Radiant Roborant, Radiant Twine, and Radiant Coating, which are used to upgrade Radiant Armor (iLevel 590, the same as Aglaia gear) to iLevel 605 Augmented Radiant Armor.

When Euphrosyneis releases in Patch 6.3, these Agalia Coins and Euphrosyneis Coins will be used to buy new Augmented armor, presumably at iLevel 630. Alliance raids often act as “catch-up content” for players who might have missed 8-man raids or Extreme content. As a result, you’ll want to save up nine Agalia Coins so you can purchase your Augmented gear as soon as possible. Some of it has the potential to be Best in Slot (BiS) for the 6.3 patch and beyond.

Crafting and Gathering

New gear for Crafting is coming out in Patch 6.3, and you’ll need to make sure you’re stockpiling the current end-game materials. These include:

  • Paldao Lumber
  • Rutilated Quartz
  • Ilmenite Ingot
  • Bayberry Cloth
  • Titanoboa Leather

If you’ve not already, it’s best to make sure both your Crafters and Gatherer jobs are maxed out in gear, with melded gear. If possible, you’ll also want to max out your White and Purple crafting and gathering scrips. These will allow you to quickly grab any new materials, recipes, or other gear that’s released with the new patch.

Gather Materia

Materia is going to be in high demand both for yourself and others. This is because at least two armor sets are releasing, and a new crafters’ gear set coming out. You’ll want to get these penta-melded as soon as possible, so getting as much Combat, Crafting, and Gathering Materia is going to be essential. Meld your own gear after the patch, and then sell the remainder to others.

Finish up Island Sanctuary

If you’ve not already, this is the time to complete anything you can for your Island Sanctuary. While the Island Sanctuary is casual, long-term content, there are definitely many who want to get this completed as quickly as possible. So if you’re one of them, finish up your Sanctuary ready for the new additions in Patch 6.3

PvP preparation

It’s your last chance to finish up the Series 2 of PvP and get your hands on both the Fylgja horn and the Cruise Chaser minions. If you don’t grab them now, there’s no guarantee they’ll be available in-game again. PvP gear is some of the rarest and hardest to obtain, so the next few days are your chance to grab it!

Optional

There’s a few optional steps you can take to prepare for the patch as well. None of these are super necessary, but usually a good idea.

  • Max out Draughts, Tinctures, Spirit Bond Potions ahead of the patch release. Use all of the
  • Make sure you’ve got a good warchest of money saved up, particularly if you’re a crafter and looking to catch up.
  • Sell some of those items that have been clogging up your inventory. Make some space!
  • Clear out your Glamour Chest. There will likely be at least one set from this upcoming patch you’ll want to keep.
