If you’ve noticed the fantastic community support of the team behind Final Fantasy XIV, then you’re not alone, as FFXIV wins Best Community Support at the Golden Joystick Awards. News of the award was tweeted directly from the official Final Fantasy XIV Twitter. The win marks the second-consecutive year Final Fantasy XIV has won this award.
Shortly after the announcement, the game’s director and producer, Naoki Yoshida, took to Twitter to issue a special thanks to all the Warriors of Light who made this award possible. In it, he stated that “this award might possibly be the one I’m proudest about as someone who manages a huge MMORPG title.”
As mentioned, this is the second year FFXIV has taken home the Golden Joystick for Best Game Community, having snagged this award, along with the Still Playing award in 2021. While the Still Playing category (which FFXIV was again nominated for) eluded the game this year, the back-to-back wins show that Final Fantasy XIV’s community is still one of the best around.

FFXIV: Endwalker was nominated for Best Game Expansion but lost to Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course. Still, three nominations and one win isn’t bad for a game entering its 10th year of continuous operation (13th if you count the disastrous original release).
Overall, it's easy to see why Final Fantasy XIV’s community is still winning awards. The game is almost notorious for its welcoming and positive player base. And the efforts of the developers to keep and maintain that atmosphere helps. From story beats that preach forgiveness and second chances to gameplay and design decisions that promote positive attitudes and support, FFXIV has many special elements that help make the community one of the best in all of gaming. And the Golden Joysticks agree!
