The Wind-up Grebuloff minion is one of the many brand-new minions added to Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. A small, aquatic creature hidden within a clunky diving suit, this unexpectedly adorable minion is one of the more difficult ones to obtain in the expansion.Â
To get the Wind-up Grebuloff, you’ll need to have a Retainer with the Miner job. Next, you’ll need to send them on the Highland Exploration XXVI mission. The Wind-up Grebuloff minion is an uncommon reward from that mission.

To send your Retainer on the Highland Exploration XXVI mission, they’ll need to be at least job level 81. That means you’ll need to have your own Miner job at level 81. Additionally, it will cost you two ventures to send your Retainer on the mission, and your Retainer will need gear that grants them at least Gathering 1815. This means, in all likelihood, you’ll have to kit them out with gear that is at least level 86.
As a reward for completing the exploration mission, your Retainer will receive 3,179,200 experience, a chance to receive the Wind-up Grebuloff minion, some Allagan Silver pieces, or between three and four crafting materials. These are usually Bismuth Ore, Eblan Alumen, High Durium Ore, or Raw Ametrines. Exploration missions take 18 hours to complete, and there’s only a limited chance you’ll receive the minion.
But if you don’t have a Miner Retainer and still want the Wind-up Grebuloff, then all is not lost. The minion is tradable and can be bought on the Market Board. At present, it sells for around one million Gil, but it has already been known to fall to as little as 400,000 Gil. It will likely fall even further in price as the expansion continues.Â
