How to Meld Materia in Final Fantasy XIV

Buff your gear.

Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG that allows players to customize their gear and unlock more powerful equipment over time. Additionally, players can further improve their gear by slotting Materia over time. While slotting Materia is essential for players looking to get an extra boost in battle.

There are two significant ways to slot Materia in Final Fantasy XIV:

  1. Visiting one of the Final Fantasy XIV's Materia Melders (often found in towns and hub areas)
  2. Melding Materia as one of the game's crafting classes

Visiting Materia Melders is the quickest way to slot Materia, as players need a bit of Gil and their own Materia. Materia can be earned from quests, purchased on the Market Board, or bought from Materia Vendors.

Melding Materia requires players to have a crafter class of the same level as the gear they're working with or higher, as leveling crafters can be a bit tedious as a new player. We recommend using Melders until users have a feel for Final Fantasy XIV.

It is important to note that Materia can be slotted and unslotted at the player's leisure, so make sure to unslot any Materia from old gear before selling or disposing it. Players can do this by visiting one of the game's Materia Melders or by using their aptly leveled crafters to remove these items.
