Final Fantasy XIV, like most MMOs, has several worlds and Data Centers that players populate to aid with congestion. While players may start in a particular world, they can swap to a different one should they follow the proper steps.
How to transfer to a new Home World in FFXIV
Players will need to use the Final Fantasy XIV Home World Transfer Service to swap worlds or servers. Once at the World Transfer Service page, follow the steps below to begin the World Transfer process.
- Confirm your eligibility
- User needs to own an active Square Enix and Final Fantasy XIV service account
- Must wait three days in between transfers
- Must be logged out of the game
- Must not be enlisted in a Free Company or applying to join one
- Cannot carry Calamity Salvager NPC items
- Cannot have reservations for a Ceremony of eteranal bonding or have invitations pending
- Must not own any land, estates , or apartments
- Cannot be a house mate
- Must retrieve all pending Deliveries
- Log into the Mogstation with the characters you wish to transfer
- Ensure the world/server you'd like to join is accepting transfers.
- Head to the World Status page to see which world are not currently accepting new characters. Worlds not accepting characters will have the following icon:
- Apply for a world transfer
- Transferring world costs $18.00 USD, so players will need a verified card or payment method to continue
- Login Restrictions
- Keep in mind that users cannot access the game while the Transfer is in progress
Rewards for Transferring Servers
Transferring from a congested world to a world with a World Population Balancing Incentive will also net players some excellent rewards. Some of those bonuses include:
- No charge for world transfer
- 10 Gold Chocobo Feathers (used to buy rare mounts)
- Reimbursement for housing
Newer players should consider creating a character on one of the preferred worlds as there are unique benefits for doing so, including:
- Double experience until level 70
- 10 Silver Chocobo Feathers (exchangable for low/mid level armor and gear)
- 15 days of free play time (for one character reaching level 30 in any class)
